Abstract

For a lot of commercialization and globalization processes, oftentimes numerous amounts of different wastes are generated and are disposed to the environment. This is a result of the high-growth industrialization and ever-increasing population growth. These demands are deemed inevitable in terms of meeting up the demands progress and developments. One of the recipients of these pollutant disposal is the soil, which limits its potential as a domestic and agricultural resource once it saturates the toxic chemicals and endangers the welfare of life, from microorganisms, plants, animals, and humans. Identified toxic contaminants include chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons, ketones, inorganic nitrogen (NO3-, NH4+), Tt, Pu, Np, Cr, U and other heavy metals.
